About
ScotDURO is arguably the most ambitious ultra-bikepacking challenge on the Scottish gravel calendar: 340 km and 5,300 metres of elevation across two fully self-supported days linking Inverness to Glasgow via the Badger Divide, with over 90 percent of the route off-road. The Scottish Highlands reveal their full scale here — remote mountain passes, silent lochs, wild glens and a surface mix of fast gravel roads and rugged tracks that demand both fitness and mental resilience. With no external assistance, riders carry everything from start to finish. Push Training 360 prepares ScotDURO across all three pillars: watt-based periodisation to sustain output on day two, full-autonomy nutrition planning, and sport psychology tools to manage fatigue, sleep deprivation and decision-making when the body wants to stop.

How to prepare for ScotDURO with PUSH TRAINING 360?
PUSH TRAINING 360 designs a 12-week plan with weekly review specifically for the 2-day self-supported ultra format of 340 km and 5,300 m of elevation. Phase 1 (aerobic base) prioritises very high volume and adaptation to many daily hours on the bike over off-road terrain. Phase 2 (threshold building) develops efficiency at sustained low intensity for the second day of racing when accumulated fatigue is at its peak. Phase 3 (specificity load) includes back-to-back days exceeding 10 hours each, real feed management, and simulation of Highland conditions. Phase 4 (tapering) reduces volume while preserving output capacity. Nutrition in three phases: maximum pre-race glycogen loading, continuous intake of 60-90 g of carbohydrates per hour while moving, and accelerated protein recovery overnight between the two days. Race strategy involves dividing the 340 km into reference blocks along the Badger Divide, managing sleep strategically, and adjusting pace to the actual condition of the Highland off-road tracks.
