About
Graean Cymru is the only UCI Gravel World Series round contested in Wales, covering 111 km with 2,118 metres of climbing through the Clocaenog Forest in the Denbighshire uplands, starting from Llyn Brenig reservoir. Dense forest tracks, gravel paths and open moorland with sweeping views across north Wales make for a technically varied course. A capped field of 1,000 riders keeps the event accessible while carrying the full weight of a UCI-sanctioned round. Taking place in early September, it is a key opportunity to close the season with series points. Push Training 360's specificity phase sharpens power on repeated short climbs, and the coach fine-tunes the tapering weeks so you arrive at Llyn Brenig at peak form.

How to prepare for Graean Cymru with PUSH TRAINING 360?
PUSH TRAINING 360 provides a 12-week plan with weekly review to prepare for 111 km and 2,118 m of elevation in Clocaenog Forest. Phase 1 (aerobic base) builds aerobic endurance with long rides on varied terrain. Phase 2 (threshold building) improves sustained power on the forest climbs that characterise the event. Phase 3 (specificity load) includes 3 to 5-hour gravel rides with pace variations. Phase 4 (tapering) reduces volume in the 10 days before the race. Nutrition is split into three phases: pre-race carbohydrate loading, continuous intake of 60-90 g per hour, and protein recovery. Race strategy in a UCI event with limited field size requires a good starting position to avoid bottlenecks in the early technical forest sections.
