About
A timed race officially recognised by the Italian Cycling Federation, held along the legendary Strada dell'Assietta, a historic military road that runs along the ridge between the Valle di Susa and Valle Chisone at over 2,000 metres in alpine Piedmont. The 68 km course and 1,862 metres of climbing demand solid high-mountain climbing fitness and comfort with the variable conditions typical of alpine summers. Starting from Sestriere, the race begins at altitude and stays there. Sustained exposure above 2,000 metres requires physiological adaptation that Push Rider targets in altitude training blocks, ensuring athletes arrive with the specific conditioning to perform in mountain race environments. In Push Training 360, the specificity phase includes altitude blocks with watts adjusted for expected performance loss at elevation, and the coach's weekly review tracks how the athlete's FTP responds to altitude so the adaptations are fully consolidated by race day at Sestriere.

How to prepare for the Assietta Legend Gravel Race with PUSH TRAINING 360?
Over 12 weeks with weekly reviews, the PUSH TRAINING 360 plan covers 4 phases oriented to high-altitude racing: aerobic base with high-altitude or simulated altitude rides; threshold building with long uphill intervals to sustain effort across 68 km above 2,000 m; specificity load with blocks replicating the continuous profile of the Strada dell'Assietta; 10-day taper before the race. Three-phase nutrition accounts for altitude adaptation, in-race fuelling, and recovery. Pacing must manage hypoxia from the start and maintain a sustainable rhythm given the timed nature of the race.
