About
The Capitals by PedAlma is an unsupported ultra of 840 km and 14,000 metres of elevation gain departing from Barcelona and linking Catalonia's four provincial capitals across a route designed for independent adventure. With no external assistance permitted, each rider manages their own nutrition, rest and navigation across several days of continuous riding. The course crosses a wide variety of landscapes from the Barcelona coast through agricultural lowlands and mountain areas of Lleida, Girona and Tarragona. Push Rider Training 360 prepares this ultra through four FTP-periodised phases and the sport psychology pillar covering night navigation and peak-fatigue management, with weekly coach review to calibrate long-distance pedalling economy across the entire event. A distinctive format for bikepackers intent on exploring the full breadth of Catalonia.

With 840 km and 14,000 m of elevation over 6 unsupported days, The Capitals is a maximum-demand ultra endurance event. The 12-week PUSH TRAINING 360 plan with weekly review is oriented toward full autonomy preparation: a high-volume aerobic base phase, threshold construction to manage cumulative fatigue, specificity loading with consecutive loaded-bike days practising route self-management and self-sufficient nutrition, and a pre-event taper. The 3-phase nutrition approach covers maximum glycogen loading before, a real and self-sufficient fuelling strategy during the 6 days, and overnight recovery. Race strategy in an unsupported ultra requires planning personal resupply points, managing rest stops, and maintaining a sustainable pace to complete all 840 km.
