About

The Gravelfoyle Weekender brings enduro-style racing to the heart of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, starting from Aberfoyle in central Scotland. The 66 km course is built around five timed segments, leaving the transitions free for riders to set their own pace and take in the landscape. The Trossachs terrain combines mixed woodland, loch-side tracks and open hillside climbs with views towards Ben Lomond. Formerly known as the Dukes Weekender, the event has a new name but retains the community spirit and scenic setting that made it a favourite on the Scottish gravel scene. Five short, intense timed efforts demand fast recovery and a clear head between bouts — Push Training 360 develops both through intermittent effort blocks in the specificity phase and weekly coach sessions focused on segment-by-segment pacing strategy.

How to prepare for the Gravelfoyle Weekender with PUSH TRAINING 360?

PUSH TRAINING 360 provides a 12-week plan with weekly review for the 5-segment enduro format over 66 km. Phase 1 (aerobic base) builds endurance to complete the course while retaining the ability to attack the timed segments. Phase 2 (threshold building) targets efforts of 3 to 15 minutes representative of the segments in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Phase 3 (specificity load) includes sprint and active recovery sessions simulating the sequence of 5 segments. Phase 4 (tapering) reduces volume while preserving leg speed. Nutrition follows three phases: light intake before the start, rapid refuelling between segments, and protein recovery at the finish. Strategy in a 5-segment enduro requires pacing the liaison sections to arrive fresh at each timed segment, where the clock is all that matters.
