About
The Transiberica Gran Vuelta is one of Europe's most ambitious bikepacking challenges, covering approximately 3,000 kilometres across the Iberian Peninsula and finishing in Bilbao. The route threads through drastically different landscapes: arid plateaus, rugged mountain ranges, lush Atlantic valleys and near-forgotten villages. This is not a conventional race but a test of self-sufficiency, navigation skills and mental resilience over several weeks. Riders manage their own resupply, rest stops and pacing with no external support. In Push Training 360, preparing for the Transiberica structures the 12 weeks around the aerobic base and ultra-specificity phases: progressive load blocks at low, sustained wattage, three-phase nutrition protocols —adaptation, activation and specific— and mental resilience work with the coach to manage accumulated fatigue when the body has been riding for weeks.

How to prepare for the Transiberica Gran Vuelta with PUSH TRAINING 360?
PUSH TRAINING 360 is a 12-week plan with weekly review, structured in 4 phases: aerobic base, threshold building, specificity load, and tapering. For a 3,000 km ultra like the Transiberica, the specificity phase includes blocks of 20-30 hours per week with consecutive nights of limited rest and bikepacking load simulation. Nutrition is addressed in 3 phases: pre-event glycogen loading, on-route fueling strategy with mixed energy sources, and active recovery. Pacing is designed to sustain a manageable effort cadence that allows you to cover the kilometres without depleting reserves in the first days.
What kind of event is the Transiberica Gran Vuelta?
It is an ultra bikepacking event, a format that involves self-navigation, partial self-sufficiency, and very long distances. No general time limit has been published, but you should consult the official website for the specific rules of each edition.
