About

Race Through Slovakia is an unsupported ultra that spans four Central European countries: riders choose between a 650-kilometre and a 1,000-kilometre route connecting Bratislava to six mandatory checkpoints across Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland. The event runs from 9 to 14 May and leaves route planning largely in the hands of each participant. Terrain ranges from the Danubian plains to Carpathian foothills and forested highland plateaus. No crew support is allowed, placing full responsibility on each rider for food, sleep and navigation. The gap between the 650 km and 1,000 km formats calls for very different preparation strategies — Push Rider plans both through the full 12-week periodisation: aerobic base builds the engine, the specificity phase calibrates ultra pace by watts for each rider's profile, and autonomous nutrition alongside sport-psychology work is refined in every weekly coach review.
